Anthracite Valley USBC 2019 Scholarship & Award Winners

Aniesa bowls in the Youth League at Valley Lanes in Childs & Michael bowls in the Saturday Morning Kids Clubs at Idle Hours North in Dickson City.  

Each bowler receives a $500 Scholarship from the Anthracite Valley Bowling Association.

The local Association includes Idle Hours Entertainment Centers - North & South, Valley Lanes, & Wallenpaupack Bowling & Sports Center.  The applicants are asked to give the Board a copy of their grades plus any school clubs or organizations they belong to and community activities. 

We congratulate & wish Aniesa & Michael Good Luck with their future endeavors.

The Anthracite Valley USBC Youth Scholarship recognizes the efforts of young adults around North Eastern Pennsylvania and their connection to the sport of bowling. Each season we strive to find the one individual who goes above and beyond the everyday youth. We look for the young adult who is dedicated, outgoing, and displays outstanding sportsmanship skills. It is with great honor that we present this scholarship to the individual that we believe deserves it the most in order to aid furthering their education and growing, not only as an individual, but a valuable member of our community. 

  • ​Must be a USBC Youth Member in Good Standing 
  • ​Must bowl in a certified competition within the jurisdiction of Anthracite Valley USBC 
  • ​Must be attending Grades 9 – 12
  • ​Must have a minimum of a 2.0 grade point average , copy of report card or transcript for proof 
  • ​Complete the Scholarship Application and enclose supporting documents at the same time by
    ​February 1, 2020.
